SCOPE

The Fourth International Conference on Communication System Software and Middleware (COMSWARE) will focus on important innovations and recent advances in the design, construction and uses of communication systems software and middleware. The goal of the conference is to create a world-class gathering of researchers from academia and industry, practitioners, business leaders, intellectual property experts and venture capitalists, providing a launch pad for new innovative business and technology. The conference will feature an exciting mix of highly selective technical program consisting of regular papers, short papers, and posters as well as specialized tracks at the intersection of business and technology. Focused workshops, tutorials and panel discussions will be held on emerging topics to allow for a lively exchange of ideas.

PAPERS

Technical papers describing original, previously unpublished research, not currently under review by another conference or journal, are solicited.. The specific topics of the conference include, but are not limited to:

• Innovations in operations and management of large networks and large-scale enterprise systems
• Software advances in wireless communications (cognitive radios, dynamic spectrum access, software defined radio)
• Next generation Web and Internet architectures, Web services, and service composition
• Achieving security, reliability, and quality of service in communication networks, protocols, middleware, applications, and Internet services
• Methods and tools for designing, verifying, and evaluating communications and middleware systems
• Large-scale system integration, software evolution, software engineering methodologies, and requirements engineering for communication systems and Internet services
• Wireless and mobile networking, wireless operating systems, mobile platforms and embedded systems
• Communication and middleware systems architecture, design principles and development methods
• Middleware for ubiquitous and mobile computing, embedded systems and sensor networks
• Middleware for peer-to-peer systems and applications
• Middleware for complex event processing, event-based systems, publish/subscribe and messaging middleware

SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

COMSWARE 2009 invites submission of manuscripts that present original material and that have not been previously published or under review by another conference or journal. Papers can be submitted as either regular or short papers. Full Papers must not exceed 10 pages double column (US Letter size, 8.5 x 11 inches) including text, figures and references. PUBLICATION

All submitted papers will go through a rigorous peer review process by the international technical program committee. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and the papers will be listed in the ACM digital library and indexed by EI. Please visit the publications page for more information.
